Overview
The Physician Affiliate Group of New York (PAGNY) is adding a Neurologist/Stroke Specialist to the group at NYC Health + Hospitals/Kings County. Kings County Hospital operates an interdisciplinary Neuroscience Center, an award-winning Thrombectomy Capable Stroke Center, a world-renowned Level 1 Trauma Center, a Cancer Center, and a Breast Health Center. The hospital maintains a strong academic affiliation with SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University.
The NYC Health + Hospitals/Kings County Neuroscience Center offers state-of-the-art care for: Epilepsy, Movement Disorders, Neuroimmunology including Multiple Sclerosis, Stroke, and Traumatic Brain Injury. In addition, we have expert Neurosurgery, Neuro Critical Care, Neuroendovascular, Neuroradiology, and Neuro Rehabilitation Services.

Kings County is located in the East Flatbush/Prospect-Lefferts section of Brooklyn, close to the 2 and 5 subways. Our patients are diverse, with the majority being Afro-Caribbean. Most of our patients are native English speakers. Knowledge of French/Haitian Creole is helpful, but not required.
Responsibilities
To provide expert stroke care to patients at NYC Health + Hospitals/Kings County on the inpatient and outpatient Stroke Services.
- Evaluate and manage patients on the inpatient Stroke Ward and Stroke Consultation Services, including Stroke Codes.
- Evaluate and manage patients in the Stroke Outpatient Practice.
- Supervise and collaborate with Mid-Level Providers on inpatient and outpatient Stroke Services.
- Supervise and teach Medical Students, Residents, Fellows, and other trainees.
- Participate in the quality assurance and performance improvement (QAPI) activities of the Stroke Service.
- Participate in the QAPI activities of the Neurology Service.
- Attend and participate in Stroke Service Faculty meetings.
- Attend and participate in Neurology Service Faculty meetings.
- Participate in administrative activities of the Stroke Service and Neurology Department as determined by the Stroke Center Director and Department Chief.
- Participate in clinical, basic science, translational, quality, and/or administrative research, if desired.
Qualifications
- ABPN Board Certified in Adult Neurology
- ABPN Board Certified/Board Eligible in Vascular Neurology
Wages and Benefits include:
Annual Base Salary: $269,216 based on a 40-hour work week. Additional compensation available for extra call or sessional/per diem hours.
The annual total value of the compensation package is estimated at $351,657, which includes the baseline salary, 401(k) contribution, sessional/per diem hours, and other factors as set forth below:
- Estimated annual compensation for 10 additional sessional/per diem hours worked per week is $55,520.
- 401(k) Company Contribution (subject to IRS contribution limits):
- Employees are immediately vested in a 3% company contribution of base earnings. No employee match is required.
- After one year of service, employees receive an additional 7% company contribution of base earnings. No employee match is required.
- Annual Continuing Medical Education (CME) Reimbursement.
