SMPA is seeking an Associate Director, Insights Partner for Oncology to play a vital role in the Oncology Commercial Organization. The primary responsibilities for this position include generating highly actionable insights that inform commercial brand strategy through both qualitative and quantitative market research, competitive intelligence, and secondary data analytics. This position will collaborate and work closely with our alliance partner, Pfizer.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Leads market research and competitive intelligence for ORGOVYX, including planning, development, vendor selection, oversight, monitoring of data collection, data analysis, and interpretation of results to form actionable insights.
- Plays a critical role in enhancing marketing, sales, and market access offerings by developing insights from information, and translating insights to shape commercial strategy and decisions.
- Manages vendor partnerships including negotiating costs, on-boarding, ensuring accountability, and project execution.
- Develops relevant and compelling presentation of insights for key stakeholders, including brand leadership, cross-functional partners, and senior management while adapting communication style based on audience.
- Prepares key deliverables (e.g., situation analysis, market assessments) to keep stakeholders informed and identify knowledge gaps to be addressed with future market research.
- Leads the development of deep dive analytics assimilating insights from multiple sources, both internal and external, to help provide a thorough understanding of brand performance.
- Solid knowledge of secondary pharmaceutical data sources (i.e., Symphony, IQVIA, Directly-contracted SP data, MMIT/DRG formulary / market access data, etc.).
- Partners with key stakeholders to understand business priorities and the related reporting needs of the organization; design and create reports for high-impact analytics to make data actionable and facilitate decision making for business partners.
- Leads competitive intelligence information gathering, analyses, and communication for ORGOVYX.
- Develops and prioritizes key business questions with the cross-functional support of medical, clinical, brand teams, and other partners in the organization.
- Builds coverage plans and coordinates data collection and reporting for major conferences.
- Seeks out new information across disparate sources such as media, financial filings, publications, clinical data presentations, competitive promotional materials, and other sources.
- Prepares and sends alerts and reports to communicate competitive developments.
- Identifies and highlights risks, challenges, and opportunities for ORGOVYX; recommends mitigation strategies and differentiation opportunities.
- Organizes and facilitates competitive workshops with cross-functional team members with internal and external partners.
Education and Experience:
- BS/BA with concentration in Life Sciences, Business, Public Health or related field experience; MBA or other advanced degree preferred.
- 8+ years of relevant experience in biotech or pharmaceutical industry.
- 3+ years experience in market research, competitive intelligence, and secondary data analytics required.
- Oncology experience highly preferred.
- Demonstrated success in leveraging data and insights to inform marketing decisions.
- Strong leadership skills and sense of teamwork and collaboration required.
- Strong planning and organization skills with the ability to set priorities effectively and efficiently.
- Ability to partner across a broad group of internal and external partners.
- Strong business skills to lead multiple project budgets, timelines, processes and procedures.
- Prior co-promote or alliance experience preferred.

The base salary range for this role is $157,300 to $196,600. Base salary is part of our total rewards package which also includes the opportunity for merit-based salary increases, short incentive plan participation, eligibility for our 401(k) plan, medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurances and leaves provided in line with your work state. Our robust time-off policy includes unlimited paid time off, 11 paid holidays plus additional time off for a shut-down period during the last week of December, 80 hours of paid sick time upon hire and each year thereafter. Total compensation, including base salary to be offered, will depend on elements unique to each candidate, including candidate experience, skills, education and other factors permitted by law.
