Weatherford has an opening for a Global Carbon Capture Utilization and Sequestration Segment Lead. You will be responsible for all aspects of the new energy growth segment including providing strategic leadership and direction within the company and working with the geozones, sales, product lines, and RDE to launch & grow the business and achieve financial and operational objectives as determined by the Executive Leadership Team.
Roles & Responsibilities
VISION & LEADERSHIP
- Establish overall business strategy of the company for this new energy market segment, including market size and growth assessment, offering scope and form, go-to-market approach, value proposition, gap & competitor analysis, organic and inorganic growth plans, etc. Develop short- and long-range plans to attain specific objectives set by the company to meet business needs.
- Collaborate with a wide variety of functional areas such as Product Line, Geozones, Commercial/Sales, Operations, Engineering, Marketing, and Manufacturing to develop and provide products and services responsive to customer needs and market opportunities.
- Establish, build, and maintain an effective organization structure and skills base to meet the plans and needs of the business in the short and longer term, maximizing cost effectiveness but with an expectation of significant growth.
- Develop and communicate global new energy segment objectives and collaborate with the Product Line, Commercial & Geozone leadership to ensure effective implementation.
- Look continuously for cross product line integration opportunities to provide effective solutions for client requirements.
OPERATIONS
- Plan for and support the operation and growth of all Company business for the new energy segment globally.
- Collaborate with the Product Line to define & prioritize new energy requirements in overall product & service strategy, research and development requirements, development priorities, analysis of market research, and manufacturing coordination for new and emerging products and services.
- Define Research and Engineering product development priorities that meet customer needs.
- Direct the commercialization of new products and/or services and support the product lines & geozone sales teams during execution.
- Oversee the effective deployment and application of the segment offering by determining which markets the product line is prioritized and offered.
- Identify key customers, partners, industry groups, and other players involved in this segment and maintain direct relationships as appropriate.
- Instigate, drive, and take ultimate responsibility for continuous improvement initiatives to ensure that the internal processes within the organization meet the needs of the business.
- Define the segment marketing and sales organization strategy to achieve maximum market potential and market penetration for all products and services offered and drive effective coordination across Geozones, Global Product Lines, and Sales efforts.
COMMUNICATION
- Ensure regular communications with client representatives to ascertain business trends and client’s future requirements as well as attitude to Weatherford contractual performance.
- Maintain effective communications with all key stakeholders both internal and where appropriate external.
- Communicate regularly segment vision and objectives to Geozone, Product Line, and Sales/Commercial teams.
- Clearly communicate expectations, roles, and responsibilities to their reports.
FINANCIAL
- Maximize financial results of the new energy business segment on a global scale, including profit & loss, fixed assets, inventory, capital expenditure, and days to invoice.
- Establish forecast revenues and profits in accordance with prescribed guidelines and ensure effective teamwork to meet and exceed approved targets.
- Establish and communicate budgets to managers per product line in order that the overall business plan is met and preferably exceeded.
- Coordinate with Geozone management the business development activities and growth of the segment and drive Geozone operations in defining growth needs including personnel, assets, and training.
- Negotiate with outside vendors, partners, and/or business interests to obtain the most preferable global arrangements for Weatherford.
- Direct and/or conduct market surveys in order to recognize, and respond to, changes in the marketing place including customer requirements, competitor positioning, and governmental regulations.

REQUIRED
- Bachelor's degree.
- Must possess a thorough understanding of carbon capture and sequestration value chain, product lines and services, applications, and operations.
- +10 years of experience in related energy segment.
- Range and depth of experience in strategy development, product and business management, and new business development including financial management and budget control, people management, and safety leadership.
- Proven track record in the development and/or application of new technology and offerings.
- Proven track record in managing international operations and subsurface developments.
- Experience leading both direct and indirect reports whether virtual or present, including demonstrated influence and matrix management skills.
PREFERRED
- Master’s degree in Business (MBA) is a plus.
- Preferably have held a product line management or P&L management position.
- Commercial experience as a provider of and/or as a customer for oilfield products & services.

Travel Requirement:
This role will require domestic and international travel of up to: 25-50%
