We are seeking a Director of Product Management for The Genius Brand (as well as a portfolio of smaller brands). This is a critical “hub of the wheel” role that connects multiple business functions throughout the organization to optimize the product portfolio from “cradle to grave”.
Position Title: Director of Product Management, The Genius Brand
Reports to: President, The Genius Brand
FLSA Status: Exempt
Direct Reports: 1
The role is based in the Atlanta Metro area and requires in-office presence at Catalyst, headquartered in Buford, GA at least 2 days per week. Some travel will be required (10%-20%).
Responsibilities:
- Product and Category Strategy: Define the product strategy across multiple categories, including a product roadmap that drives profitable growth.
- P&L Growth: Responsible for revenue, COGs, and margins of the product P&L, including having a solid understanding of category margin, unit economics, revenue/cost drivers.
- Insights and Knowledge: Develop insights from consumers, channel leaders, and the market data to stay ahead of latest trends and anticipate customer needs. Analyze category and competitive data to make informed business decisions.
- Strategic Pricing: Develop and adjust strategic pricing which includes working with tools to seek and identify value-based pricing across tiers (e.g. value, mainstream, premium).
- Portfolio Management: Develop “Product stories” including product positioning and messaging for consumers and the trade across multiple organized segments.
- Product Lifecycle and Innovation: Manage product lifecycle including new product introductions, product improvements, product line simplifications, and cost reduction opportunities.
- Forecasting and Inventory Management: “Own” the product forecast for the brand, including participation in S&OP and forecast meetings, reducing obsolete inventory and minimizing waste.
- Leadership & Collaboration: Lead through influence and with a sense of urgency, and develop strong relationships with cross functional partners.
Qualifications/Experience:
- 5 years experience with retail and eCommerce Consumer Packaged Goods.
- Proven experience in product management or brand management.
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to distill complex issues into concise, compelling actions.
- Ability to collaborate cross-functionally.
- Outstanding analytical and project leadership skills.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with Nutritionals and Supplements a strong plus.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or related field.
