Overview:
Colliers Engineering & Design is seeking a team-focused, innovative and results-oriented self-starter to assist in expanding the Transportation Planning and Design Group in our Westchester County, NY office. The Senior Project Engineer will utilize leadership and engineering skills to perform traffic evaluations and a variety of design tasks.
Responsibilities:
- Preparation of traffic impact studies including data collection and intersection and roadway capacity analyses using HCS, Synchro, and SimTraffic software.
- Attend and present at municipal planning, zoning, and other board meetings.
- Prepare concept drawings based upon client’s development objectives and conclusions of due diligence.
- Ability to manage and lead multiple projects at once with great time management abilities.
- Review traffic studies and roadway, intersection, and traffic signal designs.
- Prepare calculations, plans, specifications, technical papers, and permit applications for private and public infrastructure projects.
- Prepare construction cost estimates based upon approved plan drawings as required for bonding and client purposes.
- Train, mentor and develop junior staff members to ensure project completion and help foster growth within the traffic team.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering and/or Transportation Planning.
- 4-8 years of Transportation Planning and Engineering experience.
- Registered as a Professional Engineer (PE) in New York or the ability to obtain license within 6 months.
- Professional Traffic Operations Engineer (PTOE) certification or other related certifications are desirable.
- Proven ability to lead, interact and build relationships with clients to improve retention of projects and maintain consistent work.
- Proficient technical skills in design of intersection and signal improvement design plans.
- Knowledge of traffic analysis procedures including trip computation, Synchro software and AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Previous knowledge/experience with NYSDOT and area counties/municipalities design regulations and permit requirements desirable.
- Ability to read, write and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions.
Compensation: $83,198-$101,964 DOQ.
