IT BUSINESS RELATIONSHIP PARTNER (BRP), G&A
SUMMARY:
The role of the BRP is to be the IT leader and the face of Ionis IT for assigned business unit(s). You will be accountable from all aspects of IT for the assigned business unit including strategy, project definition, implementation, and transition to support. The BRP will collaborate with other IT teams and external partners/vendors to ideate, develop and deliver strategic solutions.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Strategic Alignment: Proactively collaborate with business leaders to understand their objectives and align IT strategies with overall business goals.
- Technology Planning: Develop and implement technology strategies that support business objectives. Stay informed about emerging technologies and assess their potential impact on the organization.
- Requirements Gathering: Work closely with business units to gather and document IT requirements. Translate business needs into technical specifications for IT teams.
- Project Management: Lead IT projects from initiation to completion. Coordinate with project teams, ensuring timely delivery and effective communication with stakeholders.
- Vendor Management: Evaluate and manage relationships with external vendors and service providers. Negotiate contracts and ensure service level agreements are met.
- Data Security and Compliance: Ensure IT systems and processes comply with relevant regulations and security standards. Implement measures to protect sensitive information.
- Organizational Change Management: Continuous communications with business stakeholders to ensure awareness of system business benefits and upcoming systems and projects changes impacting stakeholders, and helping resolve implementation issues impacting scope, budget, and timeline.
- IT Budget Management: Collaborate with Finance and IT leadership teams to develop and manage the IT budget. Monitor expenditures and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Leadership Competencies: effective management of risk and uncertainty, build strong and effective relationships at all levels, cope with and lead through change, proactively seek and provide feedback, inspire others and foster learning.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., ITIL, PMP) may be preferred.
- Proven experience in IT management or business partnering, with a focus on aligning technology with business objectives.
- Must have proven and deep experience working collaboratively with business partners and stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of IT systems, software development lifecycle, and emerging technologies.
- Must have experience in the fields of Finance, Accounting, Procurement, Tax, HR and related systems.
- Extensive experience with implementing and managing digital transformation solutions, including ERP systems such as SAP.
- Experience at public companies.
- Must have deep/extensive experience with SOX compliance/environment.
- Experience working with platforms and systems used in life sciences.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to bridge the gap between technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Project management skills with a track record of successful IT project delivery.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and data privacy regulations.
- Vendor negotiation and management experience.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to analyze complex problems and propose strategic solutions.
