The Albany Medical College Division of HIV Medicine is seeking an Infectious Disease physician to join a dynamic team providing high-quality, evidence-based care with compassion, dignity, and respect to patients in a hospital-based clinic. Clinical opportunities include comprehensive management and treatment of HIV, HIV prevention, diagnosis and treatment of sexually transmitted infections, and treatment of Hepatitis B and C. As a multi-disciplinary program, we offer gynecological services, mental health counseling, nutrition services, referrals to clinical trials, and medical case management.
This is a full-time outpatient role with flexible administrative time and no weekend clinics required. You will provide rotating weekend and evening coverage by phone as assigned.
Position details:
- Board certified or eligible MD/DO in Infectious Disease with active New York State license and valid DEA.
- Provide comprehensive HIV prevention and care to patients including sexual care, treatment, and counseling.
- AAHIVM certification or experience providing direct care to people with HIV preferred, but not required. Assistance for AAHIVM certification available if interested. Additional opportunities include participation in quality improvement initiatives, clinical trial research, and teaching medical students, residents, and visiting physicians.
- Opportunities for professional development, academic growth, and progression of rank are strongly encouraged.
- Opportunity to provide inpatient and outpatient Infectious Disease consultations available, if desired.
- Compliance with federal and state grant regulations related to the provision of healthcare, including participation in multidisciplinary case conferences.
