HCT seeks an experienced nursing professional to serve as the Interim Nurse Manager of the Operating Room at a 130+ bed facility in Northern California. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Plans and organizes operations and resources to ensure effective and efficient delivery of patient care consistent with applicable laws, standards and regulations.
- Identifies and works to remove barriers that may hinder the delivery of care or the achievement of process/productivity improvement and efficiency.
- Provides and fosters an inclusive work environment that encourages staff engagement and collaboration, establishing a culture of teamwork.
- Monitors department productivity, ensuring operational challenges are addressed timely.
- Communicates affiliate, operating unit and system goals to staff, helping staff understand impact on patients, operations and resources.
- Active involvement with the Surgeons, Anesthesiologists, Schedulers, and SPD staff to concurrently and proactively manage Patient Flow.
- Communication with other Pod Managers is imperative to provide overall O.R. efficiency.
Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; MS OR MBA preferred.
- Experience: 2+ years of recent OR management; able to prioritize effectively according to department needs and ability to organize a large number of changing variables; strong communication, writing and inter-personal abilities, including skills such as attitude, diplomacy and persuasiveness, analytical ability, strong judgment and managerial skills.
- License: California RN license required.
- Certifications: BLS through the American Heart Association required.
- Computer Skills: Information systems experience (EPIC) and Microsoft Office suite.
