Los Medanos College is seeking a Fire Academy Coordinator (Professional Expert – Program Director) to plan and coordinate the Spring 2025 Fire Academy.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Must apply and be hired as an adjunct professor with LMC (can apply for adjunct professor concurrently)
- Must be registered instructor with State Fire Training for firefighter 1 and firefighter 2
Examples of Duties/Essential Functions:
- Coordinate the 24-25 LMC Fire Academy with assistance from the cadre
- Liaise with Contra Costa County Fire Protection District
- Liaise with CAL FIRE
- Coordinate with State Fire Marshal, State Fire Training (SFT)
- Attend weekend and weekday classes with skills sessions
- Complete all required paperwork for State Fire Training
- Supervise all testing
- Document all activities, actions, problems, conflicts, resolutions, and recommendations for future
- Coordinate course scheduling as primary lead on course schedule for both lead and assistant instructors
- Supervise all disciplinary issues and actions
- Liaise with all SFT Lead Instructors scheduled with the Academy
- Coordinate with the dean on the development of spreadsheets for instructor data, timesheet submittal, load data, hiring, and payroll
- Coordinate logistics and purchasing
- Maintenance of the cadet manual
- Assist the dean with planning academy graduation
