Job Description
Hospitalists are required to manage the following:
- Shifts: 24/7 coverage with a schedule of 7a-7p. Specific dates include October 2.
- Daily census: 20-25 patients per team with nightly admissions.
- Nightly admissions: Low volume with 5-10 being considered a lot, especially early in the night.
- Physician shifts: 2 physicians from 7a-7p and 1 physician from 7p-7a, managing daily encounters of 10-15.
- APP shifts: 2 APPs from 7a-7p with daily encounters of 7-10.
- ICU beds: 8 (OPEN ICU).
- Specialty Coverages: Hospitalists must be skilled in intubation and preferably in central lines due to the open ICU.
Hospitalists also respond to codes and manage 31 med-surg beds/private rooms, with the option to double up if needed.
