The State Street Alpha’s Platform Service Architecture team in Boston, MA seeks a Boston-based Senior Business Analyst to play a key role in implementing the Alpha global front-to-back office software solutions and services to our clients. The selected candidate will drive our execution efforts to deliver new functional capabilities to our clients.
Job Function:
The State Street Alpha Front Office Senior Implementation Engineer is responsible for client engagement, operating model analysis, requirements documentation in the design of the solution architecture and the implementation planning of the State Street Alpha front-to-back solution. This role creates and documents the client solution architecture, develops sequenced phasing, and works with internal State Street teams toward deploying the client solution. The ideal candidate should have a B.S. in finance, economics or engineering, as well as a working knowledge of global portfolio management, trading and compliance of equities, fixed-income and derivative instruments, analytics and middle/back office functions that feed investment decision making.
Qualifications:
- 10+ years of industry experience with front office functionality and/or middle office functionality, analytics and applications (i.e. Bloomberg PORT, CRD, BRS Aladdin, SimCorp Dimension, Fidessa Minerva, Eze Software, etc.)
- Poise in client engagement, expectation management and project management
- Knowledge of financial and statistical concepts including modern portfolio theory and asset pricing theory
- Strong interest in global capital markets and quantitative investments
- Strong analytical, reconcilement and organizational skills
- BS degree in Finance, Economics or Engineering
- Experience in Agile Methodology and tools (i.e. JIRA, Rally, RTC) preferred

- Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills including expressing complex ideas and concepts
- Ability to multitask and navigate competing priorities, drive client expectations and deliverables to project milestone dates
- Deadline and detail-oriented construction and quality control of artifacts (client ready)

- Management consulting skills preferred
- Competency in MS Office including MS Visio, MS Project and PowerPoint
- Electronic trading platforms experience is useful but not essential
- Experience in portfolio management theory and application is preferred
Key Responsibilities or Activities:
- Client engagement in explaining the State Street Alpha Front Office integration and architecture
- Navigate complex client relationships as well as building strong business relationships and managing expectations with client stakeholders
- Workflow analysis, data analysis, requirements analysis and creation of documentation to support front office implementation efforts
- Take ownership and initiative, be accountable and proactive, and work independently in a fast-paced environment
- Strong ability to quickly learn new front office tools and data sources
- Meticulous attention to detail placing high value on accuracy and client readiness
- Flexible, able to adapt to changing priorities in an Agile and informal setting
- Provide regular status updates and supporting project management reports as directed
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, globally structured and team-based environment, as well as independently
Ability to travel to client site +/-20% domestic and/or international may be required post pandemic.
Salary Range: $110,000 - $185,000 Annual
The range quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate would ultimately work outside of the primary location above, the applicable range could differ.
