Catholic Health is seeking a Trauma Director to ensure that the patients of St. Catherine of Siena Hospital receive the highest level of trauma care by our general surgeons as well as other disciplines, including orthopedics, anesthesiology, neurosurgery and the Intensive care team. The TMD actively participates in Performance Improvement / Patient Safety committee to ensure continuous improvement in the care of the Hospital’s trauma patients. The responsibility of the TMD extends far beyond the technical skills of surgery and he/she must have the authority to manage all aspects of trauma care.

Responsibilties:
- Oversees all aspects of the multi-disciplinary care of trauma patients from the time of injury through discharge and takes a lead role for critical care, as co-director of critical care (see below).
- Provides high quality and effective care following evidence-based trauma guidelines as well as providing exceptional service excellence to our trauma patients.
- Establishes a comprehensive plan/program of care for the Hospital’s most vulnerable populations, more specifically geriatric patients from our community, including but not limited to Assisted Living Facilities, SNFs and Long Term Care Facilities.
Requirements:
- The TMD must be a board-certified general surgeon (or a general surgeon eligible for certification by the American Board of Surgery according to current requirements) or a general surgeon who is an American College of Surgeons Fellow with a special interest in trauma care and who is required to participate in trauma call.
- Required to be current in Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS).
- Required to maintain an appropriate level of trauma-related continuing medical education (36 hours of trauma related CME during the verification cycle).
- Must have the authority to manage all aspects of trauma care and coordinate care with subspecialists.

Salary Range: $ $425,107- $565,494
This range serves as a good faith estimate and actual pay will encompass a number of factors, including a candidate’s education, training, skills, licensure and certification, competencies and other relevant experience. The salary range listed does not include any bonuses, incentive pay, or other forms of compensation that may be applicable to this job and it does not include the value of benefits.
