The Industrial Metaverse Data Experiences team in Azure Edge + Platform is responsible for building low-code/no-code, AI enabled experiences to empower industrial customers to unlock differentiated business value with industrial data. We strive to help industrial customers in manufacturing, energy, transportation and logistics to seek new ways to reduce costs, increase yield and maximize productivity. We are an integrated offering in Microsoft Fabric. Microsoft Fabric is an end-to-end analytics and data platform for enterprises that require a unified solution. Our goal is to bring together different personas – namely data engineers, data scientists, Operational Technologies into a unified experience in Fabric. We plan to build Copilot experiences that let customers ask questions about their industrial data estate in natural language, help them model from the data ingested and get to business insights much faster.
We are looking to hire an Software Engineering Manager to lead a team that will be responsible for delivering the experiences in Microsoft Fabric. Responsibilities
- Provide technical guidance and leadership to a team of highly skilled software engineers, fostering an environment of innovation and high-performance.
- Mentor team members using both formal training and on-the-job coaching, promoting continuous professional growth and adherence to software development practices.
- Actively participate in code reviews, ensuring that coding standards are upheld, and that code is optimized for diagnosability, reliability, and maintainability.Apply metrics to drive the quality and stability of code, as well as appropriate coding patterns and best practices.
- Oversee the operation of live services, utilizing analytics to monitor system performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Work closely with program managers and UX/UI designers to ensure a seamless integration of technical, aesthetic, and functional aspects in product development. Drive the strategy for a design-oriented engineering culture, translating design visions into technically feasible solutions that enhance user interaction and satisfaction.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript or Python
- OR equivalent experience.
- 4+ years experience in proven track record of developing, deploying, and maintaining high-performance, scalable web applications.
- 2+ years people management experience.

This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Software Engineering M5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $137,600 - $267,000 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $180,400 - $294,000 per year.
