We are hiring a new member of our Autophagy team who will support the development of our autophagy program by investigating mechanisms underlying autophagy regulation in neurodegenerative diseases, such as Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, Huntington's, etc. You will report to the leader of the Autophagy Enhancement program.

You are a technically capable experimental neuroscientist. You are well-organized, proactive, and adept at multitasking and managing shifting priorities. You have the ability to work independently, but are eager to learn and grow exponentially within a collaborative and supportive team. You learn quickly and enjoy discovering and applying new technologies. You thrive in a culture that embraces rapid iteration and open, straightforward communication.
In this role you will:
- Design, lead, and conduct in vivo experiments that include animal models, behavioral testing, and analysis.
- Utilize advanced neurobiology techniques to investigate and understand mechanisms of neurodegeneration.
- Evaluate large data sets to refine, inform, and design subsequent experiments.
- Provide scientific insights and in-depth data interpretation to inform decision-making within the research team and for senior leaders.
- Serve as a technical expert in resolving technical and workflow issues, drawing conclusions, making recommendations, and working with other departments as necessary to plan and expedite project objectives.
- Demonstrate initiative, resourcefulness, and attention to detail within a multidisciplinary team of scientists.
- Stay current with relevant scientific literature and implement new techniques or practices to improve quality and efficiency.
You might thrive in this role if you have:
- A PhD in Neuroscience or a related field and at least two years of post-doctoral or industry experience.
- Significant experience with in vivo behavioral assessments.
- Up-to-date knowledge in cell and molecular biology, iPSC culture, neuronal differentiation and culture, and confocal imaging.
- Worked with cellular disease models of neurodegeneration to develop assays for hit validation.
- Experience independently conducting and interpreting complex biological experiments.
- A passion for solving the puzzle of neurodegeneration and thereby giving life to millions of people.
Salary: $140,000 - $190,000 a year
