This role shall involve, but is not limited to:
Responsibilities:
- Ingest, test, and validate datasets in FASTR on the Advana platform.
- Support data governance by monitoring data quality and maturity to meet DAF data strategy objectives.
- Assist with Organizational Change Management (OCM) for onboarding new users, including training and testing.
- Collect data requirements and work with source systems to ingest data into FASTR, supporting future use cases and data migration planning.
- Ensure SFIS compliance through self-reporting and validation of business rules and data element compliance with DoD standards.
- Support Universe of Transactions (UoT) reconciliations by collecting and ingesting data for financial reporting analysis.
- Provide data analytics to sustain IT audit remediation and achieve clean audit opinion for the DAF’s information technology assessable unit.
Requirements:
- Minimum 6 years of experience working with large datasets, data analytics, and reporting.
- Proficiency in data ingestion, validation, and management platforms like Advana or similar systems.
- Experience in data governance, data quality monitoring, and compliance with federal standards.
- Solid understanding of DoD Financial Management Systems and data strategies.
- Knowledge of SFIS (Standard Financial Information Structure) and its compliance requirements.
- Strong programming skills in languages such as Python, R, SQL, and experience with data visualization tools like Qlik or Power BI.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to communicate complex data findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred:
- Experience working in DoD and/or ADVANA is strongly preferred.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
Security Clearance:
Must hold an active DoD Secret level security clearance (requires US Citizenship).
