Our client is a Federally Qualified Health facility providing integrated care, covering behavioral, dental, and medical care.
As a vital member of the team, you'll play a key role in providing comprehensive and coordinated preventive dental care to a diverse range of patients from all walks of life. Many of the people you'll serve may not have had access to affordable dental care for years, making your work here truly impactful. You'll be primarily based at our main clinic in Wasilla but with the opportunity to also contribute at our Big Lake satellite location as needed. Day-to-day will include: Provision of dental services via direct patient care, recommendation and administration of medicines, completion/supervision of all necessary dental visit documentation, participation in quality assurance program development and implementation, community outreach and education and meeting patient care productivity requirements.
You need:
Minimum Education and Experience:
- Graduate of an accredited nationally recognized dental program/school
- Unrestricted current Alaska professional license to practice as a Dentist
- Current DEA license
- Two years of post-graduate experience preferred
- Minimum two years working in rural and/or underserved clinical environments preferred
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
- Knowledge of dental clinic operations
- Ability to support and work collaboratively with clinicians and administrators to oversee dental and business plans
- Proficiency with MS Office and Electronic Dental Records
- Effective verbal and written communication
- Positive, courteous interactions with staff and clients
- Effective problem solving and negotiation skills
- Ability to work effectively under pressure
- Effective organization and prioritization skills
General requirements:
- Clear background check (subject to DHSS background check)
- Current tuberculosis screening test result
- BLS certification must be obtained within two weeks of hire.
- CPI (Nonviolent Crisis Intervention) certification must be obtained when offered through the agency; it may substitute the current MANDT certificate for CPI.
