Maintenance Planner

The basic function of this role within the Maintenance Operations Workflow Process (MOWP) is to develop planned job packages for maintenance repair work and improvement projects based on priorities established by the Production Maintenance Coordinator. The job plans must fully satisfy the notification scope and include all material, services, resources and appropriate scheduling logic between individual operations or tasks.
A Day In The Life:
- Works with the Purchasing Group to procure materials and services utilizing Outline Agreements where applicable.
- Actively participates in planning and scheduling meetings.
- Communicates with the FLS, Craft Supervision, Scheduler and Production Maintenance Coordinator to solicit feedback on job plans.
- Assists in the creation and/or changes of equipment BOM’s.
- Provides support for any site emergency maintenance issues during off-hours.
- Reviews backlog and planner priority list for duplicates.
- Adheres to site notifications guidelines for backlog and budget management.
- Groups notifications together that can be planned and worked as a single order that optimizes utilization of resources.
- Ensures plans are in place that meets the timing requirements of the process units.
- Checks for understanding of scope through notification text and field walk through.
- Builds job plans that clearly show special instructions and required documentation such as MOC information, QA/QC needs, P&ID’s, spec sheets, required skill crafts and duration, specialty tools, equipment and reserves or creates purchase orders for necessary components.
- Participates in the bidding process and requisitioning of third party services.
- Assembles job packages in preparation for job execution.
- Participates in the identification and implementation of reliability driven improvements.
- Ensures critical PM’s are planned and released prior to the scheduling date.
- Ensures PHA findings, actions items, and safety work orders are planned and released prior to scheduling date.
- Ensures MOCs are authorized prior to releasing job.
- Assures material requisitions meet the site standards.
- Performs monthly reviews on their Planned vs. Actual Cost/Hours.
- Plans all jobs utilizing Equipment Task Lists.
- Adapts to procedures, processes and techniques to accomplish requirements of this position.
- Analyzes and resolves discrepancies and site issues through documentation research or direct contact with vendor, purchasing, accounting, engineering, inspection, operations and maintenance personnel.
- Performs other duties as assigned by manager.
You Bring This Value:
Education and Work Experience
- High School Diploma (or equivalent).
- Typically 2 years of SAP Planning and/or 5 years Maintenance Instrument, Electrical, or Analyzer craft experience in the chemical industry.
Area of Expertise, Requirements
- Knowledge of Industrial Instrumentation and Electrical Systems is a must.
- Strong computer and intermediate to advanced software application skills, specifically using MSWord and Excel.
Other skills
- Must consistently maintain a high productivity level; self-starter.
- Ability to work effectively and consistently with all levels of the organization. Requires strong interpersonal skills to interact with all levels of site personnel, as well as with all contractors.
- Ability to recognize the need to change or implement new processes in order to drive improvements.

- The anticipated salary range for this position is $74,080 – $111,120. The selected candidate’s compensation will be determined based on their skills, experience, and qualifications.
