Position Title: Principal Electrical Engineer
Reports to: VP of Engineering
Status: Regular, Full-Time, Exempt
Location: Corporate office in Longmont, CO
Overview
This position involves designing and maintaining our diagnostic ultrasound test equipment:
- New product hardware design and development, including PCB design.
- New product firmware design and development.
- Maintenance of current and future products, hardware and firmware.
Principal Requirements
- Has full technical responsibility for his/her branch of engineering.
- Plans and develops engineering projects that affect the direction of the company.
- Provides mentorship to junior engineers.
- >10 years of industry experience
Responsibilities
- New product analog, digital and firmware design and development.
- PCB schematic capture and layout.
- Interpret electrical component data sheets, circuit diagrams, and schematics to troubleshoot released products and support manufacturing.
- Create and revise engineering documentation within a regulated medical quality environment.
- Support supply chain and manufacturing by qualifying equivalent components.
Qualifications
Education and Professional Status
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.
- U.S. citizen or authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
Ideal Candidates will possess design expertise in several of the following:
- Analog Electronics
- Ultrasound
- Radar
- Transmitters
- RF (Radio Frequency)
Skills
Candidates should have the following minimum skill set:
- Advanced knowledge of analog and digital design techniques, including filters, ADCs and SMPS.
- Experience with schematic capture and layout. OrCAD Capture and PCB Designer or Cadence Allegro preferred.
- Experience with PLDs/FPGA and their development tools.
- Knowledgeable in VHDL and/or Verilog.
- Exceptional electronic fault-finding skills.
- Can read and understand schematics of complex electronic circuits.
- Expert at operating the following test equipment: multimeters, power supplies, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers and arbitrary waveform generators.
- Proficiency with productivity software such as MS Office, Google Docs, MS SharePoint, etc.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $115,000.00 - $135,000.00 per year
