Triumvirate Environmental, one of the largest environmental services firms in North America, is seeking a Director of Fleet Safety & Compliance for our Corporate EHS Compliance team.
This highly motivated leader will be responsible for driving the company’s fleet safety vision through the development of long-term strategies. The candidate will be able to analyze complex data and trends to make informed decisions, collaborating with all parts of the business to drive continuous improvement.

This role is onsite and is based in our corporate office in (Somerville) Boston, MA and will report to the Vice President – Environmental, Health & Safety Compliance.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute a comprehensive fleet safety strategy that aligns with the company’s overall business goals and objectives.
- Establish and communicate a clear vision for fleet safety, promoting a culture of safety excellence across the organization through learning and improving.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant federal, state and local safety regulations, including DOT and OSHA standards.
- Lead the development of risk management strategies to mitigate potential safety risks and ensure operational continuity.
- Lead the creation of continuous improvement of innovative safety programs and policies that drive industry-leading safety performance leveraging new technologies.
- Utilize data analytics and industry best practices to develop and implement proactive safety measures.
- Benchmark against industry standards to ensure the company remains at the forefront of fleet safety.
- Design and oversee comprehensive safety training programs for drivers and fleet management personnel.
- Lead, mentor and develop a high-performing fleet safety team, fostering a collaborative and high-achievement culture.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with other departments to integrate safety into all aspects of fleet operations and company strategy.
- Serve as key strategic point of contact for fleet-related emergencies and crisis management.
- Continuous improvement mindset, constantly seeking ways to improve processes and outcomes.
Basic Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Transportation management, Business Administration or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in fleet safety management or a related field, with at least 5 years in a strategic leadership role.
- Deep understanding of DOT, OSHA and other relevant safety regulations.
- Proven track record in developing and executing strategic safety initiatives.
- Strong strategic thinking, leadership and team management skills.
- Exceptional communication, collaboration and influencing abilities.
- Ability to analyze complex data and translate insights into strategic actions.
- Ability to work in diverse environments, including office settings and on-site inspections.
- This position requires occasional travel to various fleet locations and flexibility to respond to emergencies outside regular working hours.
Preferred Requirements:
Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or similar certification a plus.
