As an Engineering Manager, you’ll be responsible for setting strategy, leading your team to deliver results consistently and sustainably, growing and developing talented engineers, and cultivating a healthy, results-driven culture on your team.
This team will be responsible for Vanta’s billing systems, customer lifecycle, and internal tools. You will set the strategy, build, and evolve our billing capabilities to ensure our platform scales with the needs of the business. The billing platform leads directly into customer lifecycle where you will be responsible for creation, deletion, migration, and retention policies. In addition, you will own Vanta’s internal tools strategy to ensure our partner teams have access to the tools necessary to serve our customers and create a reliable, scalable, and secure platform for product teams to deliver new internal tools.
What you’ll do as an Engineering Manager at Vanta:
- Drive significant impact for our customers and business by leading teams to deliver results consistently and sustainably.
- Develop and hire teams of talented and kind engineers.
- Set direction and guide technical strategy, ensuring that your team is delivering long-term value aligned with Vanta’s business priorities.
- Work closely with Vanta’s customers and customer-facing teammates to build and ship high-value products and infrastructure.
- Play an integral role in laying the foundation for Vanta’s engineering culture.
How to be successful in this role:
- Have two or more years of professional experience in a full-time engineering manager role.
- Have participated in developing or driving engineering-wide initiatives (recruiting processes, career frameworks, etc.) in a prior role.
- Have prior experience managing complex, long-term projects that touch multiple teams and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Have previous startup experience, or worked in an environment that prioritizes a bias for action.
- Have an interest in learning about security or prior experience in the space.
- Have experience owning enterprise grade products.
- AI related experience is a plus.

To provide greater transparency to candidates, we share base pay ranges for all US-based job postings regardless of state. The base pay range for this position is $171,000 - $201,000. This role may also be eligible for commissions/bonus, equity, medical benefits, 401(k) plan, and other company perk programs.
