Overview
The Research and Science Technical Advisor offers strategic leadership and specialized expertise in the design, execution, and evaluation of PEPFAR HIV/AIDS programs. This is a full-time position that safeguards the scientific and clinical rigor of research initiatives and conducts data analysis to provide actionable insights and recommendations to senior leadership. Additionally, the advisor ensures program transparency and accountability by formulating evidence-based practices and effectively communicating their outcomes to key stakeholders, including policymakers and the public.
Responsibilities
- Acts as a technical and subject matter expert, providing leadership in the design, implementation, and analysis of implementation science and program evaluation projects for PEPFAR.
- Offers technical assistance for implementation science, clinical research, and evaluation projects funded by PEPFAR.
- Ensures the medical and scientific integrity of all PEPFAR-supported HIV/AIDS prevention, treatment, and care programs.
- Serves as both a policy expert and technical contributor to the development, coordination, and dissemination of new or updated international HIV/AIDS policies.
- Analyzes research and program data, providing written and oral briefings to senior leadership. Monitors HIV/AIDS prevention, treatment, and care programs to identify successes, challenges, and recommend corrective actions as needed.
- Supports the accountability, transparency, and impact of PEPFAR and other USG-supported HIV/AIDS programs by developing and communicating evidence-based practices to Administration officials, Congress, and the public.
Qualifications
Skills/Qualifications: The ideal candidate should have a comprehensive understanding of public health policies, procedures, and regulations, with the ability to think strategically in assessing and addressing public health needs. Strong communication skills, a commitment to public service, and the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues and stakeholders are essential.
Education and Experience:
- MA/MS in Public Health, Health Sciences, or allied sciences or related fields appropriate to the work of the position.
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience.
Clearance Requirements: An MRPT security clearance is required.
This position requires 3 days a week on site in Washington, D.C.
Physical Requirements: The ideal candidate must at a minimum be able to meet the following physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation:

The Nakupuna Companies use a market-based compensation strategy to ensure that our employees are compensated within applicable market ranges commensurate with multiple factors, including but not limited to the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability, organizational requirements, and position location. The projected compensation range for this position is $125,000.00 to $145,000.00 (annualized USD). The good faith salary range displayed represents the position at time of posting and is just one component of Nakupuna Companies total compensation package for employees.
