We are seeking a highly motivated Senior/Principal Research Associate at ORIC to join our Biology Department. They will lead research programs and support drug discovery with the goal of validating targets and developing therapeutics to overcome drug resistance in cancer. This is an ideal position for a researcher eager to participate in drug discovery efforts from target discovery to lead candidate selection with great opportunities for growth in Oncology Research. The successful candidate will participate in the development and implementation of biochemical as well as cellular assays in support of cancer drug discovery and become a key member of highly collaborative cross-functional project teams.
Responsibilities:
- Run weekly cellular and/or biochemical assays for drug discovery projects.
- Develop and optimize novel cellular assays using a variety of techniques.
- Display depth of molecular biology expertise.
- Identify critical biological questions, conceptualize, plan, design, and analyze experimental results.
- Demonstrate independence through thoughtful execution and creative troubleshooting of experiments.
- Display excellent scientific communication and collaborative nature.
- Perform basic laboratory maintenance duties: such as ordering and stocking of lab supplies and reagents.
Qualifications & Experience:
- You have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in biology, molecular biology, cell biology, or related discipline with professional/industry experience a plus, Principal/Senior/Research Associate level commensurate with experience.
- You are passionate and intensely curious about the relevant concepts in cancer biology. You are enthusiastic to learn more.
- You have experience and expertise in cellular assay development and execution.
- You are technically proficient in biochemistry and molecular biology techniques.
- You display good oral presentation and written communication skills.
- You are comfortable working both independently as well as collaboratively and thrive in a fast-paced research environment.
- Eager to learn new techniques.
The anticipated hourly salary range for candidates who will work in our South San Francisco location is between $50/hr.-$63/hr. for the SRA and $60/hr.-$75/hr. for the PRA role. The final salary offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the title, type and length of experience within the job, type and length of experience within the industry, education, etc.
