DESCRIPTION
The Radiology Department Patient Transporter is a highly visible position working throughout the Department of Radiology. Under general supervision, responsible for transporting or directing patients and visitors to appropriate destinations within the Department. Provides technical, patient care and clerical support to technologists. Prepares patients for radiographic procedures including, but not limited to, CT, MRI, and Ultrasound exams.
Contributes to cost containment by maintaining established PAR levels of office supplies, forms, and linens. Participates in cross training to obtain seamless operations within the Imaging department, including a working with Radiology Information System (RIS), EPIC, and other ancillary computer systems such as iShare and teletracking. This position is multi-faceted and requires proficiency in several areas in addition to providing a welcoming first impression.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to get BART within six (6) months of hire date.
- One (1) year recent experience in a similar role and setting, Two (2) years recent experience preferred.
- Basic computer skills required, such as MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Ability to remain calm in stressful situations.
- Excellent communication skills required.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS
- Must be able to work flexible hours, including days, evenings, nights, weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime, as needed.
- Must be able to work various locations according to business need.
- Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time.
- Must be able to lift over 50 pounds and able to push/pull a gurney or bed with patients weighing up to 300 pounds.
Pay Transparency Act
Annual Full Pay Range: $48,045 - $59,759 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)
Hourly Equivalent: $23.01 - $28.62
Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
