Location: This is a Connecticut based position (Applicants must have the ability to travel up to 50%).

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Sales to lead a high-performing team of sales professionals. Are you experienced in growing a territory by executing a sales strategy and utilizing sales goal tools? Are you looking for an opportunity to utilize your management skills in a sales territory spanning over 6 states representing tens of millions of dollars in sales? The ideal candidate should reside on the East Coast Region of the US (Berlin/New Haven, CT preferred) with the ability to travel throughout the territory and the US. The Sales Director will lead a staff of approximately 25 employees and manage a budget of several million dollars.
What you will do as a Director, Sales:
- Developing and executing sales strategy for the territory in close cooperation with senior management.
- Directing others on sales goals and activities.
- Interacting with and making sales calls to key decision makers and influencers in the contract hardware arena including distributors, architects, general contractors, construction managers, end users.
- Senior management review presentations with territory results during monthly review meetings.
- Building and maintaining a high-performance team by hiring staff, evaluating and coaching employee performance, supporting appropriate training and development methods, and team building.
Skills and Experience:
- A bachelor's degree in business, architecture, construction management or engineering. Master's degree preferred.
- A minimum of 10 years’ experience in the door and hardware business or related industry (i.e. building products, access control) with a minimum of 3 of those calling into the contract distribution channel.
- A minimum of 7 years’ experience in a managerial role with responsibility for directing staff.
- Ability to think strategically.
- Demonstrated record of developing and implementing effective sales strategies.
- Strong relationship building, interpersonal and verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of managers, employees, customers and influencers at all levels.
- Ability to travel up to 50%.
