Sodexo Corporate Services is seeking a General Manager, Food Operations to join our team in Fremont, Michigan supporting two operations for Nestle/Gerber. Fremont is a beautiful resort area in Michigan and it is close to Muskegon.
The food service operation at this account consists of two cafes, a MicroMarket, and catering services which comprise a managed volume of over $700k per year at the two locations combined. In addition to leading the operations at this unit, the General Manager will have full responsibility for all unit financials and must have the ability to lead and develop a team of up to 8 Sodexo-paid, union frontline (hourly) employees.
This position reports to the District Manager and is the most senior person in the account. Operations are open Monday - Friday and breakfast and lunch meals are served. With rare exceptions, there is no service in the evenings, on weekends, or on holidays.
The ideal candidate for this position will:
- provide stellar customer service (and this manager will have daily contact with multiple clients including corporate executives)
- be able to manage through change, use a flexible style and manage a group of diverse personalities to achieve common goals
- grow customer participation
- ensure labor management and budget adherence
- multi-task, lead by example and direct employees in a fast-paced environment
- be extremely innovative, particularly in the areas of culinary and health and wellness offerings
- lead in the areas of daily food production, ensuring Sodexo culinary standards and recipes are being used, and monitor menu-planning and adherence to Sodexo’s “Waste Watch” tool
- focus on safety - food & physical (for customers and staff)
