Acentra seeks an Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Consultant (Remote U.S.) to join our growing team.
Job Summary:
As an Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Consultant at Acentra Health, you will perform clinical telephonic assessments and consultations, delivering comprehensive referrals and ensuring diligent follow-up for managers, employees, and their family members covered by the Employee Assistance Program.

Choice #1: Monday - Friday (10:30 AM - 7 PM Eastern) 8 hours
Choice #2:
Wednesday (8:30 AM-6:30 PM Eastern) 9.5 hours
Thursday (8:30 AM-6:30 PM Eastern) 9.5 hours
Friday (8:30 AM-6:30 PM Eastern) 9.5 hours
Saturday (7:00 AM-7:00 PM Eastern) 11.5 hours
Job Responsibilities:
- Conduct both routine and urgent clinical risk assessments, offering expert consultations, short-term issue resolution, and comprehensive referral services for all members seeking assistance.
- Provide management consultation services to various levels of management and human resources within our broad customer base.
- Demonstrate proficiency in assessing a wide spectrum of workplace issues and devising suitable action plans, remaining well-versed in essential workplace legislations like the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Department of Transportation (DOT) drug and alcohol testing, Sexual Harassment, and Duty to Warn.
- Display a comprehensive understanding of Acentra Health's customer base, staying updated on issues affecting customers from both legislative and customer-specific standpoints.
- Engage in additional assigned duties to support internal and external customers in achieving the EAP department's goals.
Required Qualifications/Experience:
- Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related field.
- 3+ years of employment in the mental health field, where the assessment of mental illness and substance abuse was a key function.
- Knowledge of confidentiality laws and their exceptions.
- Clinical skills and experience to perform a risk assessment and develop an action plan that meets the needs of the client.
- Knowledge of chemical dependency, indicators of risks associated with withdrawal, and appropriate treatment modalities.
Preferred Qualifications/Experience:
- 2+ years of EAP experience.
- Understand the concept of the dual client.
- Independent license and Certified Employee Assistance Professional (CEAP).
- Some call center experience.
- Understanding of the Critical Incident Stress Debriefing (CISD) process and ability to develop an action plan to address immediate customer needs.
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to remain calm in a crisis.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to problem-solve, exercise judgment, and make critical decisions.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills in an environment that requires team effort.
- Creativity and ability to think outside the box.
- Self-starter with drive and desire to learn.
- Flexible with the ability to adapt to change.
- Ability to work independently but know when to seek supervision.

Compensation
The pay range for this position is $53,820.00 - $74,800.00 per year
Based on our compensation philosophy, an applicant's placement in the pay range will depend on various considerations, such as years of applicable experience and skill level.
