POSITION SUMMARY
As the NATURIUM Manager, Packaging Development, you will manage packaging development for the entire portfolio in partnership with the sourcing manager. As part of this, you will manage the technical aspects of packaging, attend line trials, streamline the portfolio, and manage costs. Reporting directly to the AVP, Operations and Innovation, you will have a vital position in the company and its growth!
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Streamline and redesign all secondary packaging; unit cartons and shippers to meet retailer, sustainability, and manufacturing needs.
- Create and maintain packaging documentation; technical drawing, line trials, and other packaging related reports.
- Request, review, and approve technical drawings, deco areas, T1s if custom.
- Research and evaluate new materials with an emphasis on sustainability while keeping a pulse on industry trends, innovations, etc.
- Collaborate with the sourcing manager to develop and maintain relationships with a large network of domestic and international packaging vendors.
- Initiate and manage execution of packaging testing internally and at fillers or third-party labs, review results.
- Work with fillers to determine fill claim and any production requirements such as tooling, bullet molds, auto cartoning, application torque, hand vs. machine label application, label unwind direction, tube crimping, inbound component packout (dividers, polybags, etc.), shipper size and configuration.
- Create detailed fill and assembly instructions for fillers and kitters.
- Proofread packaging artwork for technical details - dieline and dimensions, printing tolerance/bleed, deco process, material, finishes/coatings, fill claim.
- Assess and resolve packaging related quality issues across the portfolio.
- Plan and attend line trials.
- Advise consumer messaging and recycling instructions for all products.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's Degree and 5-7 years experience in similar roles and industry.
- Thrives in a fast-paced, autonomous environment and learns quickly.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- MS Office Suite skills (Outlook, Word, Excel).
- Travel required.
- Beauty experience strongly preferred.
Physical Requirements

$85,000 - $100,000 a year
