Job Responsibilities:
The Vice-president, CODA provides leadership and strategic vision/direction through ongoing development and maintenance of the Commission as the authority on dental accreditation in the U.S. and internationally. Responsibilities include:
- Providing operational and fiscal oversight of the agency.
- Development of policies and procedures for the accreditation program.
- Analysis of data submitted annually by educational programs to identify trends and innovations in dental education.
- Overseeing regulatory compliance with the US Department of Education.
- Establishing and maintaining a culture focused on customer service and continuous quality improvement.
Must Have:
- DDS/DMD from CODA-accredited dental education program or its equivalent.
- Minimum 15 years experience in senior leadership (dean/department chair) at a dental education program.
- Experience in developing and implementing strategic direction and vision.
- Supervision of multiple teams, operational planning, performance management, and budget development.
- Excellent strategic and management skills.
- Knowledge of dental education, curriculum, outcomes-based education, and the accreditation system in the US.
- Ability to analyze data on dental education and practice.
- Manage a diverse, highly skilled team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Willingness to travel 20-50%.
Nice to Have:
- Knowledge of international dental education and quality assurance.
- Experience publishing in peer-reviewed journals.
- Experience with the CODA accreditation process.
- Understanding of ADA governance and the relationship between ADA and CODA.
- Understanding of the US accreditation system and the US Department of Education recognition process.
