JOB SUMMARY
Pursues state-of-the-art development techniques to create, validate and deploy autonomous capabilities. Provides quick adaptations and iterations of autonomous capabilities with the latest available software. Implements capabilities through R&D projects by programming and utilizing software. Position will receive direction from manager and guidance from more senior staff but must also be able to use some independent judgment.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Participates in the development of autonomous driving and artificial intelligence (AI) within ITCA. (30%)
- Validates with virtual and physical testing for developed functionalities. (20%)
- Develops automated pipeline (scripts and software) for use in utilizing data analysis and data processing. (20%)
- Documents processes in technical and/or publication format per industry standards and prepares testing data results for publication. (15%)
- Works with Isuzu global teams in the development of ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems), AI, and autonomous technology. (10%)
- Contributes to the promotion of new AI and autonomous technology. (5%)
- Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS
Reports to: Supervisor, Model-Based Development
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & TRAINING
- Master’s degree in Engineering, Math, or Computer Science
- One year of experience in programming Python or C++ preferred
- Direct experience in autonomous driving preferred
- Seminar/industrial training in specialty preferred
KNOWLEDGE
- Advanced knowledge of autonomous driving systems
- Advanced knowledge of deep learning/AI (Artificial Intelligence) systems
- Basic knowledge of automotive mechanical/electrical systems
SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Excellent PC skills in Linux and ROS (Robotic Operating System) as well as Microsoft Office applications
- Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
- Basic skills in engine development as demonstrated by scholarly/industrial achievements
- Ability to plan/execute project goals and time schedules in area of vehicle expertise
- Strong report writing and analytical skills
PHYSICAL STANDARDS
The employee must be able to access, enter, and retrieve data using a computer. Position is in a controlled office environment which requires occasional reaching, stooping, and lifting of office files, reports, or records, typically weighing 5 lbs. or less. Must be able on rare occasions to bend, crawl, climb, crouch, kneel and reach above shoulder level in the performance of job duties. Must be able to work in hot, cold, and high-altitude extremes.
Position requires 10 - 15% travel, including overnight and weekend stays.
Pay scale for this position is between $83,032 and $105,866. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.
