Job Purpose:
Manage test engineering staff and support new product introduction, product in production and development projects with customers or Sanmina design team. Support production resource training needs, define and develop products testing strategies and provide DFT and quoting support. Drive continual improvement of the test methodology to include additional test automation strategies. Establish test labor standards, create and maintain capacity analysis, cycle times improvements and work on closing any gaps to meet production schedules and shipping requirements. Develop close relationships with customers’ technical teams and drive total product testing ownership and alignment with customers test strategies and company goals. Develop close relationships with key suppliers to help them understand the importance of their role in our business. Manage and supervise service/calibration/preventive maintenance activities for test equipment (FT, ICT, AXE, FP) to ensure that equipment PM and calibration services are performed on a timely basis and ensure that they are cost-effective, efficient and meet the company’s high standard.
Nature of Duties/Responsibilities:
- Support product implementation in manufacturing, including facility layout of equipment and workstation floor space and requirements for power and data networks.
- Manage project schedule pertaining to strategy implementation, working with the customer focus team and the customer counterpart(s).
- Develop testing work instructions (TWI, SOP), validation protocols, tooling and programs for product testing processes to support appropriate product acceptance programs. Work with other departments and engineering teams to integrate new products into manufacturing systems.
- Identify and communicate product software and hardware design deficiencies to customers.
- Train technicians and operators on new production test stations, support debug of complex designs and perform failure analysis as part of continuous improvement.
- Provide support for software installation and configuration, data collection and modifications.
- Identify and drive test and process improvements to closure for top defects affecting test yields.
- Support new business development by interfacing with new customers, developing proposals and quotations.
- Oversee and support pilot runs for NPI and supply feedback to customers.
- Manage test engineers, test engineering activities and test technicians.
- Support test infrastructure validations, writing and executing validations protocols.
- Evaluate and upgrade new test equipment as required to meet product complexity and new technologies.
Education and Experience:
- BSEE with 10+ years’ experience as a functional test engineer, in industrial, life science, medical device, networking or related field.
- Min 3 years’ experience as test engineering manager; familiarity with ICT, FP, AXE.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Experience with the Engineering Change Control process and Deviations Process.
- Familiarity with IQ/OQ/PQ methodology.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001, ISO 13485 requirements.
- Experience in a Contract Manufacturing environment is a plus.
- Ability to work with TEs to debug hard failures that Techs can’t debug.
- Ability to Analyze Failures and drive them to fix the Root Cause.
- Ability to work with QE’s and ME to provide feedback for all manufacturing failures.
- Ability to work with Customers Engineers to provide Test programs failures and possible designs failures.

Salary Range (annual): $120,000 - $145,000
