Base10 is a $1.5B+ venture capital firm located in San Francisco that is looking to add a dedicated Chief of Staff role for the General Partner of the early stage fund. We are a research-driven firm investing in companies that are automating the largest sectors of the Real Economy such as Finance, Healthcare, AI, Retail, Food, and Logistics. We believe in investing in founders who are solving problems for the 99% and we tie purpose with profits by donating 50% of the Managing Partners’ carried interest to create scholarships for underrepresented students.
The Chief of Staff will be fully dedicated to the General Partner of the early stage team and will assist on special projects, investment related project management for all phases of deal management including from sourcing to investment diligence, as well as traditional executive assistant responsibilities. They will also work closely with the Chief Operating Officer to drive continuous investment process improvements and ensure best practices are adopted consistently across the organization. Responsibilities
As the Chief of Staff, you will play a pivotal role in supporting and enhancing the effectiveness of the leadership team. You will be responsible for a diverse range of tasks that include, but are not limited to:
Qualifications
Proven experience in project management or operational roles
Demonstrated ability to take large projects, break it down into tasks, track it over time, holding others accountable for their deliverables, while also directly contributing to the project
Self-starter who can work with minimal oversight balanced with strong judgment of knowing when to escalate decisions or bring in senior leaders for input
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with acute attention to detail
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with internal and external stakeholders
Takes ownership of all Investment related projects with a personality and persistence to keep on top of all items needed for completion, escalating when needed to ensure that all deliverables are met
Minimum of 5 years of experience
Experience in VC, startup, or financial services preferred but not required
Strong team player with a flexible, positive attitude
