Description
We are seeking a Part-Time Dentist to work at a county jail(s) in the Johnson County Area.
Correctional dentistry is a unique, challenging, and exciting opportunity for dentists because it allows you to provide patient care without the interference and barriers associated within a private practice. This is the perfect opportunity to provide dentistry in a public health setting, while improving health outcomes.
Responsibilities:
- Perform dental services within designated hours of operations.
- Utilize universal precautions for patient dental care.
- Exam, diagnose and treat patients consistent with professional standards and defined scope of service.
- Document patients’ needs for every dental encounter utilizing the SOAP format, update the patient health history, and obtain patient consent prior to delivering care.
- Keep patient information confidential and respect patients' rights to privacy, in accordance with accepted confidentiality practices for incarcerated individuals.
Requirements:
- Graduate from an accredited school of Dentistry Medicine (DDS/DMD).
- Experienced clinician preferred.
- Recent graduates encouraged to apply.
- One (1) year of experience in oral surgery preferred.
- Active and unrestricted State Dental License.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Great interpersonal skills.
