Autodesk’s Platform Services and Emerging Technologies (PSET) organization is looking for a hands-on, experienced engineering manager to join a team of talented engineers who are responsible for building the User Profile and Personalization platform.
As an ideal candidate, you have led teams developing modern, production-grade cloud services, especially in a fast-paced, agile environment. You should have hands-on experience and strong knowledge of modern data lake architectures in private or public cloud. You’ll work closely with colleagues in Product Management, adjacent Engineering teams and stakeholders in various functions and organizations across Autodesk to drive execution and ensure adoption of the platform. You’ll also play a key role ensuring that we maintain privacy and security standards respecting and safeguarding our customers’ data.
You know how to build and guide highly effective and high-performing teams while inspiring them to remain at the cutting edge. You excel at both mentoring junior software engineers and guiding more senior engineers. Most of all, you can inspire a team to do great things.
You will report to a Director of Engineering.
Responsibilities
- Manage a team of software engineers responsible for delivering features and functionality on the Analytics Data Platform.
- Work with your team to help understand requirements, evaluate new features, help drive technology roadmap decisions.
- Build collaborative partnerships with platform architects, technical leads and key individuals within other functional organizations, to deliver compelling solutions for a highly scalable and performant Data Platform.
- Build and foster a high-performance culture, mentor team members and provide your team with the tools and motivation to make things happen.
- Create plans, track and ensure tactical execution and adherence to budgets, schedules, plans, and performance.
- Drive execution of the platform strategy following principles of agile methodology.

Qualifications
- 10+ years of software development experience, with 8+ years of experience as a manager.
- Deep knowledge of cloud computing stacks at the SaaS, PaaS and IaaS layers.
- Advanced knowledge of public cloud service platforms with experience delivering production applications on Amazon Web Services (AWS). (A must)
- Proven ability to resolve complex and ambiguous issues.
- Experience working with Data Lake or Warehouses, Data pipelines for ETLs, high performance databases. (A must)
- Hands-on experience developing scalable and resilient microservices, using Java, Python, JavaScript/Node.js, PGraphQL, Go, React, and CI/CD.
- You’ve been a part of a team that’s shipped software with modern software processes and practices including Continuous Integration/ Delivery, Infrastructure-as-Code, etc.
- Thoughtful and pragmatic decision-maker with excellent communication and written skills.
- Experience with Scrum and agile development processes and methodologies.

Salary transparency
Salary is one part of Autodesk’s competitive compensation package. For U.S.-based roles, we expect a starting base salary between $169,400 and $273,900. Offers are based on the candidate’s experience and geographic location, and may exceed this range. In addition to base salaries, we also have a significant emphasis on annual cash bonuses, commissions for sales roles, stock grants, and a comprehensive benefits package.
