This workforce development professional will support all WorkSource lines of business and is capable and ready to serve all WorkSource customers. You will provide direct services to job seekers and employers within the WorkSource Office.
Duties
You will directly support the mission of ESD by partnering to connect employers and job seekers. You will be responsible for ensuring the day to day availability and delivery of Labor Exchange and Reemployment Services in the WorkSource system in person and virtually of integrated services to job seekers, the delivery of services to employers and providing targeted customers through outreach. The integration of EC programs will include WorkFirst, SFS, Business Solutions, BFET, Veterans, Migrant Seasonal Farm Worker, WIOA and other program services. You will provide guidance and feedback to customers regarding the federal, state, local and office policies, and procedures. You will ensure ongoing support of the agency performance and expectations to be successful in their role as an EC employee. The expectation is to participate in a regionalization of services for our area, developing innovative ways to deliver services which will provide continuity to the area team, enhancing morale and staff job satisfaction.
Some of your daily tasks include but are not limited to:
- Manages caseload, provides case management, facilitates appropriate support services and/or makes referrals to appropriate agencies.
- Identifies, evaluates, and explores solutions to assist in removing barriers, assist customers in obtaining needed documentation.
- Conducts group and individual orientations, and workshops and supply program specific information about services, benefits, and eligibility.
- Assist customers in the use of resource center services including technology, resumes, applications, and interview skills.
- Develops individual employment service plans, guide customers to effectively use employment and training programs and services.
- Create and disseminate program reports as required by supervisors and managers.
- Coordinate resources with partners; communicate and promote agency and partner programs and services to encourage maximum utilization of available incentives.
- Provide outreach and follow up services to customers.
- Respond promptly to e-mails, phone messages, and mail.
Qualifications
Required:
One year (1) as a WorkSource Specialist 3 or equivalent class within the Employment Security Department, or another state's Employment Security agency.
OR
A Bachelor's degree AND three years (3) of relevant experience in workforce development, social or human resource services, public relations, or public contact work, such as: unemployment insurance, social services, human resource services, education, public relations, benefits programs, insurance claims, law enforcement and banking or a combination of education and/or relevant experience.
OR
A Master's degree will substitute for one (1) year of the required experience.
OR
A combination of education and/or relevant experience totaling no less than seven (7) years, (including military experience evaluated year for year, performing related tasks.)
Desired Qualifications:
Lived or professional experience interacting with military populations and an understanding of military culture is preferred but not required.
Education to Experience Equivalences:
Associate Degree = 2 years | Bachelor Degree = 4 years | Masters or Higher = 5 years
Additional Requirements of Employment:
- Must be able to pass an Unemployment Insurance (UI) Claim & Benefit Information Review.
- Must be able to travel on a daily or weekly basis to provide services.
