Job Title: AV Technical Site Lead

Job Overview: We are seeking an experienced AV Technical Site Lead to oversee on-site audio-visual installation, service, maintenance, and commissioning projects. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on leader with a strong understanding of AV systems, project management, and customer relationship management. This role requires a high degree of technical expertise, especially in troubleshooting and resolving issues in real time. The AV Technical Site Lead will manage field teams, coordinate with subcontractors, and communicate with customers, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget while adhering to quality standards. Salary: $90,000 - $120,000 depending on experience. Discretionary annual bonus based on performance.
Key Responsibilities: - Lead AV installation, service, and commissioning teams on-site, ensuring technical standards and project requirements are fully met.
- Act as the main point of contact for clients, managing expectations, addressing concerns, and ensuring customer satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.
- Work closely with project managers to understand project scope, schedules, deliverables, and risks. Coordinate with subcontractors, field teams, and clients to ensure the successful execution of projects. Manage logistical aspects of all on-site activity.
- Use in-depth technical knowledge to troubleshoot and resolve AV system issues on the fly, quickly identifying problems during installation, service, or commissioning, and implementing effective solutions to avoid delays or disruptions.
- Manage the service and maintenance efforts for existing AV systems, ensuring that all technical issues are resolved, and systems are functioning at optimal performance levels.
- Lead the commissioning of AV systems, ensuring proper configuration, testing, and final sign-off. Validate system functionality and performance against client expectations and project specifications.
- Proactively identify and mitigate potential risks related to project schedules, budgets, and resources. Provide regular status updates and detailed reports to project managers and clients.
- Maintain clear communication with all stakeholders, providing updates on project timelines, technical issues, and any necessary changes. Ensure that all project documentation is accurate and up to date.
- Supervise the installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of AV systems, ensuring compliance with design specifications and industry standards.
- Work with teams on software-related elements of AV systems. Experience with AV-related software is preferred but not required.
- Ensure all work meets safety guidelines and AV industry standards, particularly those set by InfoComm and other governing bodies.
- Willingness to travel 5-10% of the time for projects outside of the DC metro area (DMV).
Required Qualifications: - 5+ years in AV installation, with at least 2 years of experience in AV service and maintenance.
- Experience working in a leadership or supervisory position.
- Experience with commissioning and troubleshooting AV systems in real-time is essential.
- Knowledge of AV systems, including signal flow, control systems, video/audio distribution, and system integration.
- Experience in troubleshooting and resolving AV issues during installation, service, and commissioning phases.
- Familiarity with AV-related software (control systems, programming platforms, etc.).
- Ability to problem-solve and leverage analytical skills.
- Experience in managing project timelines, reporting, and risk mitigation.
- Ability to juggle multiple projects and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams, including field staff, subcontractors, and clients.
- Ability to obtain and maintain clearance.
- Must be based in the DC metro area (DMV) or willing to relocate.
- CTS (Certified Technology Specialist) required.
Preferred Qualifications: - CTS-I (Installation), Biamp, Cisco, Extron, and/or similar certification are preferred.
