Principal Systems Dev Engineer - SAP BRIM, Kuiper Commercial Revenue Operations (CRO)
Project Kuiper is an initiative to increase global broadband access through a constellation of 3,236 satellites in low Earth orbit (LEO). Its mission is to bring fast, affordable broadband to unserved and underserved communities around the world. Project Kuiper will help close the digital divide by delivering fast, affordable broadband to a wide range of customers, including consumers, businesses, government agencies, and other organizations operating in places without reliable connectivity.
We are seeking an exceptional Principal Systems Development Engineer to join the Kuiper's Commercial Revenue Operations team. Our ideal teammate possesses a natural curiosity, sharp analytical skills, and is excited to build products and processes for our commercial business. We are looking for an individual that can lead architecture, design and implementation of SAP BRIM solution for subscription management, recurrent billing, invoicing, payments and tax. The candidate will work extensively with senior business leaders to understand business requirements and work with engineers to build solutions on SAP BRIM and integrate with other third party (Salesforce) and first party Amazon systems.
As a Principal Systems Dev Engineer, you will be responsible for identifying, scoping, architecting, implementing and deploying end to end deliverables. You will apply both business and technical acumen in a fast-paced, ambiguous, and innovative environment. You thrive through building consensus and driving teams towards results. You will anticipate bottlenecks, provide escalation management, anticipate and make tradeoffs, and balance the business needs versus technical constraints. You will take on large, complex projects and break them down into manageable pieces to deliver them in a successful and timely manner. You will communicate program status to executive leadership (including VPs and Senior VPs) via mechanisms such as monthly and weekly business reviews. Maturity, high judgment, negotiation skills, ability to influence, analytical talent and leadership are essential to success in this role.
Export Control Requirement: Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 7+ years of experience as a Technical Architect or System Developer.
- 3+ years of hands on experience on designing and developing subscription management, recurrent billing, invoicing, payments and tax solutions on SAP BRIM and S/4 HANA.
- 3+ years of integrating SAP BRIM with other downstream and upstream systems including metering, pricing, contract management, order management, product catalog and inventory management.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Proficiency in middle-ware technologies such as Mulesoft, Convergent Mediation, Apache NiFi, message brokers, API gateways, etc.
- 5+ years of software development experience.
- 3+ years of experience in deploying SAP BRIM in multiple countries with nuanced local compliance requirements.
- Possess a complete and thorough knowledge of SOX compliance regulations, including their implications on software development practices, data handling, and security measures.
- Certifications in AWS services or cloud technologies are advantageous.
- Certifications in SAP.
- Certification in MuleSoft, SAP NetWeaver Process Integration (PI) and SAP NetWeaver Process Orchestration.
- Obsession with quality, operational excellence, and customer experience.
- Experience taking a leading role in building complex software systems.
- Demonstrated ability to manage tradeoffs and evaluate opportunistic new ideas.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $170,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $279,900/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
