Position Overview
Reporting directly to the CEO, the Chief of Staff will play a crucial role in supporting the entire senior leadership team. This position requires a unique blend of operational excellence, strategic thinking, and project management skills. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in operations management and the ability to navigate complex business challenges in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
Key Responsibilities
Executive Support and Strategic Initiatives
- Act as a strategic partner to the CEO and senior leadership team, providing high-level support on critical business decisions and initiatives
- Collaborate closely with all members of the senior leadership team to align operations across departments with overall business objectives
- Develop and implement cross-functional projects to drive company growth and efficiency
- Manage special projects as assigned by the CEO and other senior leaders
General Operations
- Oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring smooth functioning across all departments
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance organizational efficiency
- Coordinate with department heads to streamline operations and resolve cross-functional challenges
- Manage key vendor relationships and contracts
- Develop and maintain operational policies and procedures
- Implement and oversee quality control systems
Project Management
- Lead and coordinate major company initiatives and projects
- Develop project timelines, allocate resources, and monitor progress
- Identify potential roadblocks and develop mitigation strategies
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget
Performance Management and Reporting
- Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) across all departments
- Prepare comprehensive reports on operational performance for the executive team and board
- Analyze operational data to identify trends and areas for improvement
- Implement data-driven decision-making processes across the organization
Organizational Development
- Work with HR to develop and implement strategies for talent acquisition and retention
- Assist in creating and maintaining a positive company culture
- Facilitate cross-departmental communication and collaboration
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, or related field; MBA preferred
- 6+ years of experience in operations management or a similar role
- Experience in a high-growth tech startup environment
- Strong understanding of the freight and logistics industry preferred
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities
- Proven track record of managing complex projects and driving results
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with changing priorities
- Proficiency in project management tools and data analysis software

Compensation
The expected on-target compensation for this role is between $150,000-$200,000 for work performed in the United States. Starting pay for the successful applicant will depend on a variety of job-related factors, which may include experience level, transferable skills, education, location, business needs, training, and market demands. This range may be modified in the future.
