Position Compensation Range:
$95,000.00 - $161,000.00

Compensation may vary based on the job level and your geographic work location. Relocation support is offered for eligible candidates.
Primary Accountabilities
- Handle litigation involving either the corporation and/or its insured within established corporate guidelines and the applicable code of professional responsibility.
- Handle files and issues of a more complex nature with higher levels of dollar exposure and requiring less oversight. Communicate with client regarding file status and progress.
- Analyze file as litigation progresses as well as risk to the company. Evaluate cases and seek settlement as necessary.
- Draft all necessary pleadings, papers and briefs to advance litigation activities at the trial or appellate level. Conduct necessary research in support of drafting activities.
- Advocate client position in all forums (state and federal court, alternative dispute resolution, administrative tribunals and regulatory hearings) and circumstances, both formal and informal.
- Negotiate effectively in the resolution of all issues.
- Stay current on state statutes and court decisions and analyze how statutes and court decisions affect the interpretation and enforceability of the various policy provisions.
- May develop areas of specialty practice (e.g. special property, workers' compensation, environmental law, commercial coverage).
Specialized Knowledge & Skills Requirements
- Demonstrated experience providing customer-driven solutions, support or service.
- Demonstrated experience preparing civil pleadings, motions and discovery and deposing witnesses.
- Demonstrated litigation experience.
- Solid knowledge and understanding of rules of Professional Responsibility for the jurisdiction in which they practice.
- Solid knowledge and understanding of tort, contract, and insurance law.
Preferred Knowledge & Skills
Demonstrated Trial Experience strongly preferred.
Licenses
- Admission to the Missouri State Bar required. Additional admission to Illinois Bar preferred.
- Juris Doctor.
