Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking a dedicated Supplier Quality Engineer to join our team. This role will be based in Sykesville, MD and may work a hybrid schedule. This position can be filled a either a Principal/3 or Sr Principal/4 Supplier Quality Engineer.
Responsibilities include:
- Responsible for Supplier Quality risk management.
- Develops and implements supplier quality evaluation and control systems.
- Assures supplier process and product quality, including contractual, regulatory, and technical compliance.
- Interfaces directly with supplier personnel and assesses both supplier quality and manufacturing processes and procedures.
- Conducts product and process verification activities, monitors supplier quality performance, and drives root cause corrective action analysis for supplier quality issues.
- Supports the maintenance of the approved supplier list and periodically reviews supplier performance.
- Manages supplier requests for waivers, deviations, and discrepancy reporting process.
- Keeps management apprised of supplier performance, quality status, and risks.
- Coordinates and oversees Supplier Quality plan implementation through all program phases.
- Actively engages in supplier evaluation, qualification, and selection as part of the Business Acquisition Process (BAP).
- Manages implementation of Supplier Quality processes, including supplier approval activities, source selection evaluations, and supplier quality requirements development.
- Provides support and mentorship for junior supplier quality engineers through training on supplier and quality tools.
- Leads and drives ownership with cross-functional teams to ensure all incoming products are non-conforming and on time.
- Responsible for developing and executing process risk audits, special process audits, and quality management audits.
- Develops and provides proactive supplier management plans and execution with suppliers.
Basic Qualifications for a Level 3:
- Bachelor’s degree plus 5+ years of experience.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.
- US Citizenship required.
- Demonstrated Knowledge of ISO 9001 or AS9100 requirements.
- Experience in root cause analysis and corrective action.
- Experience in leading teams and projects.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or applicable STEM field.
- CAM/EV Experience.
- Strong manufacturing background in various roles.
- Strong quality background, particularly in supplier quality.
- Experience in performing supplier audits.
- Demonstrated knowledge of quality tools including PFMEA, PPAP, APQP, FAI.
- Engineering experience in PWB/PCB fabrication.
- Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt Certification.
Basic Qualification for a Level 4:
- Bachelor’s degree plus 8+ years of experience.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.
- US Citizenship required.
- Demonstrated Knowledge of ISO 9001 or AS9100 requirements.
- Experience in root cause analysis and corrective action.
- Experience in leading teams and projects.
Salary Range: $93,000 - $139,600
Salary Range 2: $115,400 - $173,200
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
