Job Description
Revenue Accounting Manager serves as a teammate in a world-class finance team in a rapid growth environment. The finance team serves as trusted advisors for all our strategic and enterprise endeavors and works closely with business partners on a daily basis. The Revenue Accounting Manager has ownership of commercial contracts, international distributors, revenue related royalties and must understand, analyze, and communicate financial impacts to revenue within the team. This position has a critical and highly visible role in the documentation and accurate recording of terms and conditions in commercial contracts.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include:
- Summarize and document terms and conditions in all commercial contracts.
- Keep Accounts Receivable and Revenue team abreast of any updates/amendments to the contracts listing.
- Be part of month-end and quarter-end revenue close, including reconciliation of the contracts listing with legal listing.
- Prepare and collaborate with the international locations with regards to contract completeness and revenue recognition relating to international contracts with effective rate revenue impacts.
- Prepare and collaborate with the legal team with regards to royalty payments due from revenue.
- Help prepare data and other support information requests as needed for audits and reviews conducted by external auditors.
- Participate in developing and maintaining strong internal controls, ensuring quality controls over revenue transactions and reporting.
- Assist with implementation and testing of new programs, streamline processes, and upgrades, as necessary.
- Complete special projects as required.
Qualifications

You bring excellent interpersonal skills to the role: communication, empathy and relationship building. In addition, you have strong written capabilities, analytic skills, and good attention to detail.
Education/Experience/Licenses/Certifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting
- CPA preferred
- 5-7 years in revenue recognition required
- In-depth knowledge of revenue recognition guidance under ASC606
- In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience working with GAAP multi-element revenue recognition accounting standards, preferably in the software industry
- Proficient Excel skills - pivots, look-ups, etc.
Skills & Abilities:
- Microsoft Office, Outlook, Word, and Advanced Excel Skills, ERP system experience (Preferably Oracle)
- A solutions-oriented team player who enjoys a dynamic work environment
- Ability to communicate complex information in a clear and concise manner
- Ability to effectively work with all levels and cross-functionally within the company, including Sales, Legal, and Business Development
- Strong organizational skills and ability to meet tight deadlines

Hybrid Work Model: At Guardant Health, we have defined days for in-person/onsite collaboration and work-from-home days for individual-focused time. All U.S. employees who live within 50 miles of a Guardant facility will be required to be onsite on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays. We have found aligning our scheduled in-office days allows our teams to do the best work and creates the focused thinking time our innovative work requires. At Guardant, our work model has created flexibility for better work-life balance while keeping teams connected to advance our science for our patients.
For positions based in Palo Alto, CA or Redwood City, CA, the base salary range for this full-time position is $112,600 to $152,000. The range does not include benefits, and if applicable, bonus, commission, or equity.
Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including, but not limited to, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. If you are selected to move forward, the recruiting team will provide details specific to the factors above.
Employee may be required to lift routine office supplies and use office equipment. Majority of the work is performed in a desk/office environment; however, there may be exposure to high noise levels, fumes, and biohazard material in the laboratory environment. Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
