ERM is seeking an energetic, self-starting Consultant, Water Resources to join our team in either our Malvern, PA, Washington, DC or Ewing, NJ offices. ERM helps our clients solve their water related complex business challenges including business resilience and business continuity in a climate-changed world. We develop and apply geospatial analyses, multi-dimensional models, analytical tools and risk assessment techniques across a wide variety of industries to understand and mitigate our client’s water related risks.
You will contribute your technical and analytical skills to support ERM’s business and client base, while networking with ERM's global water resources technical team to share multi-disciplinary resources and best practices across the industry. You will be part of the regional water practice to help our clients understand their enterprise-wide water risk, build their water related ambitions/goals, develop strategies to meet these ambitions and be a better steward of water. This is an excellent opportunity for a junior-level professional looking to advance their career while helping our clients solve their business and sustainability challenges.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Be part of multi-disciplinary teams of practitioners to execute water and climate-related studies in support of client needs.
- Assist in the data collection, analysis, reporting and client engagement to assess a wide variety of physical, regulatory, and reputational water stress factors and their business risk impacts.
- Collect and analyze data to benchmark peer performance on environmental, social, and governance (ESG) issues, as well as assessing client ESG performance (e.g., overall strategy, goals, performance, and public disclosure/reporting).
- Assist clients in the pursuit of certification from the Alliance for Water Stewardship Standard.
- Perform watershed and water resource/water quality assessments for a variety of surface and groundwater environmental settings.
- Use geospatial data analytics, related software (ArcGIS or similar), calculations and models to address impact, regulatory and climate change issues.
- Execute multiple projects within scope / schedule / budget expectations and ensure quality standards on deliverables.
- Assist with climate change physical risk assessments through use of data and global climate models.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- B.S. or M.S. in Environmental Science, Civil Engineering, or other related fields.
- 1 to 5 years of experience.
- Working knowledge of a programming environment such as MATLAB and/or R.
- Experience in working with geospatial databases.
- Strong aptitude for or interest in using technical knowledge to develop strategic thinking.
- Strong aptitude for and interest in problem solving and analytical thinking with a high degree of organization and attention to detail.
- Solid English written and verbal communication skills. Experience writing detailed technical reports.
- Experience with CDP Water Security disclosure, WRI’s Volumetric Water Benefit Accounting, and the concept of water neutrality/positivity a plus.
For the Consulting Senior Associate, Water Resources position, we anticipate the annual base pay of $59,094 – $70,725 USD. An employee’s pay position within this range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, and business or organizational needs. We also may have instances where compensation may be outside of the range, based on the factors noted above. This job is also eligible for an annual discretionary based performance bonus.
