Job Description:
Accenture Federal Services is seeking a Senior Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) who is passionate about leveraging scripting and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) to enhance operational efficiency and reliability within an Azure environment. This role is crucial for automating service desk tasks and ensuring high availability, observability, and performance of our services. The successful candidate will be instrumental in reducing platform toil, improving service metrics, and leading our automation efforts to streamline operations.
Responsibilities include:
- Platform Reliability and Performance Enhancement: Identify and implement improvements across the platform to enhance reliability, availability, and performance end-to-end.
- Service Scaling and Cost Efficiency: Develop and manage service scaling models with attention to fiscal responsibility regarding Azure resources. Lead efforts to optimize costs through effective resource utilization.
- Post-mortem Analysis and Fix Implementation: Conduct thorough post-mortem analyses, develop fixes for identified issues, and coordinate deployment across all environments.
- Service Observability and Monitoring Integration: Enhance service observability to ensure high availability. Integrate monitoring tools with Service Desk and Operations, providing actionable metrics to stakeholders.
- Automation of Engineering & Operational Tasks: Drive the automation of engineering and operational tasks, including but not limited to file marking automation, user account management, and self-service account features.
Here's what you need:
- 5+ years of experience with PowerShell scripting and implementing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) for Azure environments.
- 4+ years of experience in automating service desk tasks and operational processes to include:
- Experience in developing, deploying, and managing scalable services in Azure, with a focus on performance and cost-efficiency.
- Experience in service observability and implementing monitoring solutions that integrate with operational workflows.
- Experience with architectural submissions and leading cross-functional engineering efforts for technical alignment.
- Experience with automation tools including Azure Automation, Azure Logic Apps, and Ansible for Infrastructure as Code (IaC) implementations and automating service desk tasks.
- 3+ years of experience Azure DevOps, Jenkins for CI/CD pipelines, Terraform, and Azure Bicep for infrastructure provisioning including experience with:
- Container orchestration tools like Kubernetes or Docker.
- Managing Azure resources efficiently and securely using IaC tools such as ARM Templates, Terraform, and specifically Azure Bicep to streamline and codify infrastructure deployments.
Bonus points if you have:
- Proven track record of identifying and implementing platform reliability and performance improvements.
- Experience with Sentris SDK, automated account management, and self-service portals.
- Ability to lead post-mortem analyses and implement across-the-board fixes to prevent recurrence of issues.
