Your Team Responsibilities:
MSCI Inc. seeks Executive Director, Shared Services Engineering in New York, NY to work with stakeholders to understand business needs and to design and implement software solutions to meet those needs.
Your Key Responsibilities:
- Support and work alongside cross functional engineering teams to deploy and maintain critical applications on cloud-native and on-premises architecture.
- Analyze requirement specifications for impact on existing systems and for gaps, testability, and applicability to stated use cases.
- Responsible for understanding the software development lifecycle and automation tools.
- Perform capacity management and planning by monitoring, trending, and analyzing usage data and predicting increases for onboarding large clients.
- Manage production hardware and software resources, including coordinating maintenance and outages with infrastructure and business groups.
- Work closely with business team on the development of new features, progress on testing, and plan dates for releases for different environments, including QA, UAT, and PROD.
- Manage report development projects from conception to delivery, working with clients, product stakeholders, and developers.
- Provide product technical support by performing workflow analysis and troubleshooting reporting platform applications. Lead the application operation support effort for the reporting team to drive a sustainable model for stability of the reporting platform systems.
- Participate in security sign off across governance teams needed for monthly production reporting releases. Implement entitlement policies for reporting clients. Design, implement and test disaster recovery and business continuity plans on the cloud environment.
Your skills and experience that will help you excel:
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or a related field and seven (7) years of progressively responsible experience in the job offered or related occupation: working on operational support for internal client-facing financial web applications; troubleshooting applications, data issues, and providing timely resolution within the defined service level agreement; utilizing the software development lifecycle process including requirement gathering, design, code review, unit test automation, and build and release automation environments; collaborating across functional teams to improve quality of service and contribute to enhancement of user experience; analyzing requirement specifications for impact on the existing system and for gaps, testability, and applicability to stated use cases; participating in incident management for resolution and tracking of application issues; managing monthly maintenance and production releases, ensuring appropriate communication across the development and business teams, including post release system testing; collaborating across development and product management teams for service delivery; practicing capacity management and monitoring, trending, and analyzing current usage of the existing software systems to accommodate future growth and sustainability; leading support efforts on overall system stability and defining scope for future improvements across the team. Telecommuting and/or working from home may be permissible pursuant to company policies. When not telecommuting, must report to work site. Offered salary is between $169,229 and $169,229 per year.
