PRAB, Inc., the Puerto Rican Action Board, a comprehensive human services organization incorporated in 1971 with headquarters in East Brunswick, Middlesex County, New Jersey, is seeking a visionary, energetic, seasoned, organized executive-level administrator to be its next Chief Executive Officer (CEO). The CEO will have a deep commitment to PRAB's vision and mission and have a strong track record of getting exceptional results. S/he will be a strategic thinker with considerable experience directing a complex, interdisciplinary, fast-paced, multi-site organization, preferably within the non-profit sector. S/he will work closely with the Board of Trustees and executive management staff team to ensure that the PRABs program and operations plans are well-executed.
Reporting to the Board of Trustees, the CEO will be a dynamic fundraiser with proven ability to secure resources and maintain effective relationships with a diverse group of individuals, foundations, corporations, and government agencies. S/he will be a passionate spokesperson and bridge builder, who will heighten PRABs visibility and build relationships with various sectors and will persuasively convey to a broader public the full range of issues related to Central New Jersey. S/he will understand the current and ongoing changes in the political and financial landscape and the impact of change on PRAB's funding and programming. S/he will also ensure that PRAB is responsive to its diverse program participants and that its programs and services continue to achieve the highest level of excellence, thus meeting their changing needs.
Major Duties & Responsibilities
- Lead the development of PRABs vision, mission, values, and strategy in conjunction with the Board of Trustees
- Lead the implementation of PRABs long- and short-term plans in accordance with its organizational strategy in conjunction with the Board and executive management staff team
- Ensure that PRAB secures the financial, human, and physical/material resources needed to carry out its long- and short-term strategy
- Serve as PRABs principal spokesperson, represent the organization in policy-related forums, and advocate on behalf of the organization and the community, increasing public awareness of its work and broadening its visibility
- Develop and maintain relationships and organizational partnerships and collaborations with individuals, foundations, corporations, and government agencies
- Oversee board relations and ensure the active involvement of board trustees in organizational governance and institutional assistance
- Partner with the executive management staff team on program, operations, and development administration and management, ensuring effective administration of programmatic, administrative, and development operations
- Spearhead the development, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of PRABs strategic and annual plans
- Produce monthly, quarterly, and annual operations progress reports (both internal and external)
- Perform other duties as assigned by Board of Directors
Main Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree in public administration, business administration, community development, social services, or related field a minimum requirement; Masters Degree preferred
- A minimum of eight (8) years of senior director-level professional experience, preferably in a non-profit setting
- Proven track record in organizational leadership, fundraising, grants management, project management, and financial management
- Expertise in board relations, institutional development, external relations, and advocacy
- Successful track record of building relationships with external partners to harness organizational resources
- Successful track record of developing and administering organizational and program priorities and plans
- Successful track record of communicating organizational work and achievements
- Experience developing and administering organizational business plans and creating, managing, and reporting on complex budgets for a wide range of programs
- Working knowledge of multi-faceted, automated accounting systems, 990s, Certified Audited Statements, and Federal A-133 Statements
- Valid drivers license and access to a reliable vehicle

- Proven ability to influence and engage direct and indirect reports and peers
- Proven ability in working with other entities, and developing partnerships and collaborations
- Proven ability to work effectively in inter-departmental, inter-disciplinary team settings
- Ability to handle multiple tasks effectively under pressure and meet strict deadlines within time constraints
- Ability to work collaboratively with a fast paced, highly interactive staff
- Working knowledge of federal, state and city building codes and industry standards
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred

Compensation and Hours
- This is a full-time, exempt, salaried position
- Salary starts at $145K and increases based on commensurate experience
- Includes some early evening and weekend work hours
