This position serves as a Safety and Occupational Health Manager in FEMA's Office of the Chief Administrative Officer. In this position, you will provide expert knowledge of national safety and health laws, policies, regulations, and standards, operational directives, methodologies, and objective regulations issued by higher authorities.

Major Duties

Developing, reviewing, approving, and submitting Safety plans (e.g., Strategic Plan, Occupant Emergency Plan, Health and Safety Plan, and Disaster Hazard Assessment Plan) to SHMR National Safety Cadre/Cadre Manager.
Managing and ensuring the implementation of Safety plans and programs in accordance with all applicable regulations (local, State, and Federal), standards, and guidelines.
Reviewing the Incident Action Plan (IAP) and recommending adjustments as needed.
Delivering Safety briefings.
Ensuring that hazard controls are implemented.
Establishing and managing the Safety function ensuring that the organizational structure and staffing are Incident Command System (ICS) compliant and meets the staffing requirements outlined by SHMR.
Establishing work assignments and setting priorities, and following up to ensure regulatory, FEMA, and OHS procedures are met.
