Location: This position will work a hybrid model (remote and office). Must reside within 50 miles/1 hour commute of an Elevance Health location.
The Director Business Improvement is responsible for leading large-scale business unit and enterprise-wide initiatives through the expert deployment of Lean and Six Sigma methodologies which optimize end-to-end operations, create efficiencies, enhance quality and position the organization for profitable growth by mitigating the need for incremental administrative costs.
This leader will guide the Provider Data Solutions Learning & Development and Process Optimization team focusing on transformation while building exceptional outcomes around operational service and provider experience.
How You Will Make An Impact
- Develops an initiative intake process for prioritizing and establishing value ensuring key projects are aligned to top organization priorities, meet the needs of leadership, mitigate risk, and that business commitments are on time, within budget and capture expected value performance results.
- Builds a rigorous learning and development approach focused on desk level procedures, operational changes on tech deployments, job aides, associate operational performance and changes from process optimization.
- Leverages the Lean and Six Sigma DMAIC approach and related methods for all phases of projects with an emphasis on data collection/analytics, process analysis, implementation in line with sponsorship support, and control reports on the status and health of the portfolio using the dashboard to provide visibility into key metrics.
- Develops and deploys a business improvement discipline and practice across the organization, adopting practices of Lean and Six Sigma and following the DMAIC approach across all phases.
- Establishes and oversees a comprehensive communication plan and informs key stakeholders about the progress of initiatives.
- Aligns internal resources to projects and manages external sourcing to obtain full competency to complete projects.
- Supports department-level and enterprise executives in decision-making, setting strategic goals, and investment priorities that position the organization for digital and automation capabilities and in goal setting activities.
- Hires, trains, coaches, counsels and evaluates performance of direct reports.
Minimum Qualifications
- Requires a BA/BS in the healthcare field and minimum of 10 years experience at a director or above level with significant large-scale business optimization experience up to $100M+ in valuation; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
- Lean and Six Sigma Black Belt required or obtained within a reasonable timeframe.
Preferred Skills, Capabilities And Experiences
- Master's degree preferred.
- Travels to worksite and other locations as necessary.
- Strategic planning in operational settings, data analysis and has driven continuous improvement in the healthcare industry through Lean and Six Sigma methodologies strongly preferred.
- Experience with Learning and Development and Process Engineering.
For candidates working in person or remotely in the below locations, the salary range for this specific position is $148,240 to $277,950.
