Job Summary:

The AV Programmer is well-rounded and experienced in commercial Audio/Visual systems, with strong industry knowledge of best practices and installation standards consistent with InfoComm and manufacturers' specifications. The AV Programmer will have experience with Crestron (required) and AMX (optional) programming.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
The AV Programmer interprets AV signal drawings and scopes of work to reasonably assume function and user experience of an AV system. The AV Programmer writes source code for simple-complex Commercial Audio/Video systems. They create a GUI and develop a user experience in line with IES standards and project SOW (scope of work) for each project. The AV Programmer works with field engineers and superintendents, offering remote support for uploading and testing code and AV systems control of components. They provide feedback to AV engineers and project management on experiences with products, schedules, programming, estimation, and overall quality control for the AV systems we integrate. The AV Programmer collaborates with, contributes to, and embraces a fast-paced team environment. They will complete other responsibilities as assigned.

The AV Programmer must be self-motivated, positive in approach, and convey an appropriate professional image. They must promote the Company culture and mission to all employees, vendors, clients, and business partners. Proven problem-solving skills, critical thinking skills, and the ability to effectively read, write, and give oral presentations are essential. Excellent organizational skills and the ability to develop job processes and best practices are required. The AV Programmer must have a high skill level to interpret blueprints and other project documents. They must be able to travel within the branch territory and/or regional territory as needed, work at heights, off a ladder, and in confined spaces, lift up to 50 pounds, and move up to 75 pounds. The AV Programmer must be able to see and distinguish different colors, read small print, and hear and recognize audible signals such as dial tones. They should be PC & Networking proficient.
Education, Certification, License, and Skill Requirements:
Must have HS Diploma or GED; a Bachelor's degree in electronics or a related field is preferred. A minimum of five (5) years' experience in audio-visual or other electro-mechanical installation techniques, or field servicing is preferred. Crestron programming experience and Crestron Advanced Programming certification are required. Experience should include video conferencing - Polycom, Cisco, or LifeSize. Must be able to read schematic diagrams and drawings. Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and MS Project) is required. Must meet Company minimum driving standards and be able to use common trade tools.
