Join the team as Twilio’s next Senior Director, Creative.
Although we're headquartered in San Francisco, we have a presence throughout South America, Europe, Asia, and Australia. We're on a journey to becoming a global company that actively opposes racism and all forms of oppression and bias. At Twilio, we support diversity, equity & inclusion wherever we do business.
About the job
We are searching for a talented Senior Director, Creative to lead our creative team, drive our brand vision, and creatively shape our brand evolution. We want someone who has a deep passion and understanding of design principles—who has a good eye for great design, video, and customer experiences. The ideal person has experience with both design, copywriting, and video. We also want someone who has experience leading large teams, either at an agency or in-house at a large brand. And we want a real creative leader, someone who builds great cross-functional relationships outside the creative team, can create an environment where creativity can shine, and can speak the language of marketing and business.
Responsibilities
- Manage creative teams and work directly with the executive team and across marketing, product groups, and sales—building relationships up, down, and sideways.
- Lead and develop a brand vision and ensure the right in-house and external agencies are in place to help creatively build the brand—delivering clear and consistent visual storytelling aligned to overall brand identity and messaging.
- Provide systems-level design thinking informed by user needs and insights, and act as a thought leader across the organization, actively contributing to the overall brand and product strategy.
- Lead teams to launch successful content and digital experiences in a competitive marketplace, showing your ability to balance conversion best practices with brand-centric and human-centered design.
- Act as an internal resource and provide leadership on brand guidelines and resources that make it easy for all brand collaborators to support and uphold our brand.
- While exercising a good eye for aesthetics, grasp and distill highly complex issues and translate them into clean, focused, understandable solutions.
- Cultivate positive relationships with executives and peers across the organization to ensure alignment and delivery of a holistic end-to-end customer and employee experience.
- Supervise and train creative teams and be responsible for management of design budget and a strong understanding of processes and timeline management.
- Coach and mentor creative professionals to sharpen their skills, be more confident and effective in their jobs, and have a clear path for professional growth and career development.
Qualifications
Not all applicants will have skills that match a job description exactly. Twilio values diverse experiences in other industries, and we encourage everyone who meets the required qualifications to apply. While having “desired” qualifications make for a strong candidate, we encourage applicants with alternative experiences to also apply. If your career is just starting or hasn't followed a traditional path, don't let that stop you from considering Twilio. We are always looking for people who will bring something new to the table!

- Agile and flexible thinking.
