Senior Test Engineer
GDIT has an opportunity for a dynamic and talented candidate to join our team supporting the Administrative Office of the US Courts (AOUSC) Case Management Systems Office (CMSO) in its modernization effort for one of its mission-critical applications that is used by all federal courts' community. CMSO has a mature agile practice using the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) and supports a broad range of complex business systems which are instrumental to the AOUSC mission.
The Senior Test Engineer will execute the following responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Product Owners (POs) and Temporary Duty Assignees (TDYs) on understanding the testing requirements of the data loads into the data marts and national reports created using Business Objects and PowerBI.
- Create Test Plan/Strategy document in line with Program objective and review with POs and TDYs to incorporate feedbacks.
- Design and develop automated test scripts for report and report data testing, according to industry standards, for peer review and execution.
- Create and execute test cases to validate the data integrity for functional requirements.
- Support business users with data creation and scenarios documentation for user-acceptance testing (UAT).
- Review test deliverables and ensure test coverage to requirements.
- Apply best practices for process documentation and organization within the assigned area.
- Provide training to users on report development and document modifications and enhancements for peer reference and knowledge transfer.
- Ensuring requirements validation and supporting all levels of testing, including functional, system and exploratory, compliance, security, regression, performance, and load/stress testing.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- At least seven (7+) years of overall relevant experience.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Programming, Computer Engineering or relevant computer-based major.
- Extensive experience in testing Web Intelligence reports and dashboards created using BusinessObjects XI 4.2 or higher.
- Extensive experience in Structured Query Language programming in Oracle, SQL Server 2012 and higher, or Informix.
- Strong analytical skills and problem-solving skills with the ability to formulate and communicate recommendations for improvement.
- Experienced with process design and documentation methodologies, and design and production of quality deliverables, process and use case modeling, business case development.
- Experienced in understanding business requirements and user requirement analysis.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively, independently, and as part of a team.
- Outstanding communication, organization, time management, and interpersonal skills.
- Good written and verbal communication skills coupled with strong listening skills.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Demonstrated understanding of standard Data warehouse concepts.
- Experience with Snowflake is desired.
- Knowledge of Universe is a plus.
- Prior Experience with PowerBI would be nice to have.
- Experience in BusinessObjects administration in a Windows environment.
- Experience in Office 365 Online, Microsoft Azure, Microsoft Active Directory, and other Microsoft platforms (e.g., MS SQL Server, MS SQL Service Integration Services, MS SQL Server Analysis Services)
- Knowledge of court operations and law enforcement business data.
