POSITION SUMMARY
The Product Development teams are focused on rapidly developing the next generation of percutaneously implanted cardiac pumps, both for acute and long term patient support. Our team is leading or engaging in the development of the entire system including:
- Pump/catheter/motor
- Access and repositioning sheaths
- On-board sensors / intelligence
- Electro-mechanical console, UI, and System performance
- Clinical best practices, training, and pump management techniques
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The student will:
- Assist in the design of components/fixtures
- Conduct engineering tests for design improvement
- Provide input into process development and improvement
- Conduct failure analyses under mentorship of senior engineering staff
- Analyze data and present results to larger Engineering team
QUALIFICATIONS
REQUIREMENTS:
- Junior, Senior, or Grad student pursuing a degree in mechanical, biomedical engineering, or directly related discipline
- Strong design, testing, and analytical skills required (e.g. engineering and statistical analysis)
- Demonstrated communication skills, both written and verbal
- Knowledge of SolidWorks preferred
- Experience with machining and/or 3D printing is a plus
- Basic hardware experience with embedded systems
- Electrical experience fabricating prototypes/breadboards/PCBs is a plus
